Be Still, My Soul

      Be Still

      Be Still

      Be Still
      Be Still
      Be Still
      Be Still
      Be Still

Words: Katharina von Schlegel
Music:  Jean Sibelius

Be still, my soul: the Lord is on thy side.
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain.
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change, He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: thy best, thy heavenly Friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

Be still, my soul: thy God doth undertake
To guide the future, as He has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake;
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul: the waves and winds still know
His voice Who ruled them while He dwelt below.

Be still, my soul: the hour is hastening on
When we shall be forever with the Lord.
When disappointment, grief and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, love’s purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul: when change and tears are past
All safe and blessed we shall meet at last.

    I have never heard this beautiful song. How wonderful a gift my Cousin has given me by sharing on face book this evening. Thank you so much for making this available. My soul feels refreshed.

    Just learned of your website through a mention of it at Faith Village Church of Christ here in Wichita Falls. I love it!! Exactly what I have been looking for.

    Any thoughts of recording “Going Home” from Anton Dvorak’s New World Symphony? I realize it’s not one of our “old hymns” but the thoughts expressed in it certainly agree with our Christian faith.

    Keep up the great work!!

  4. It is so refreshing to sing along familiar songs; like walking on old familiar paths of ‘holiness’. Thanks for recording these sounds that will live throughout the generations.
